Decoding is the ability to apply your knowledge of letter-sound relationships, including knowledge of letter patterns, to correctly pronounce written words.
PhonicsPhonics is a method for teaching reading and writing of the English language by developing learners' phonemic awareness—the ability to hear, identify, and manipulate phonemes—in order to teach the correspondence between these sounds and the spelling patterns that represent them.
WritingThe first words kids read are often the first ones they write; early writing builds reading confidence. The first words and sentences kids can read are often the first words and sentences they write. Writing gives them early and much needed confidence with literacy.

SpellingSpelling Helps Reading. Learning to spell helps to cement the connection between the letters and their sounds, and learning high-frequency “sight words” to mastery level improves both reading and writing.
